Acupuncture

Modern technology has yet to fully explain how acupuncture actually works. Traditional Asian Acupuncture is based on Chinese theories of the flow of Qi (pronounced "chee" - a fine, essential substance which nourishes and constructs the body). Qi flows through distinct channels that cover the entire body, just as nerves and blood vessels do. Acupuncture adjusts the flow of Qi; leading it to where it is needed, and taking from where it is excess. In this way, acupuncture restores the harmonious balance of the body.

Chakra/Esoteric Acupuncture

All acupuncture points treat the physical as well as the spiritual body. Some points/groups of points more than others. Healing Hands Acupuncture specializes in esoteric treatments, and treating by the "spirit of the point". Acupuncture can induce a meditative state of heightened awareness with complete relaxation. For example, there are a group of acupuncture points called "Ghost Points", generally used to help people to stop seeing ghosts, but can also be used for increasing spiritual awareness and calming the enotional body.
There are also acupuncture points correlating to the major chakra (energy) centers in our body, and can help clear/align the chakras.

                    


Moxibustion

"Moxa" is either used alone or in conjunction with acupuncture to stimulate the acupuncture points. It is the application of heat and a Chinese herb to affect the Qi. It can be used in many forms: sometimes at the end of the acupuncture needle, other times by itself. Moxa, which is the herb Mugwort, is always used carefully and is supervised at all times.
